The Lunar Astro mobile application requests permissions that far exceed what is necessary for an astrology app. Users are required to grant access to their contacts, media files, and precise location data. Cybersecurity experts warn this is a classic data-harvesting model.
During consultations, clients share deeply personal information—financial struggles, marital affairs, and health crises. There is zero transparency regarding how this highly sensitive data is stored, encrypted, or potentially sold to third-party data brokers for targeted advertising.
Whistleblowers allege that the personal data collected via the app and website is weaponized. If a user posts a negative review, their personal phone number and email are allegedly handed over to the Lunar Astro "troll farm" (led by operatives like Satvik Saini) to initiate cyber harassment and fake legal threats.
